Transcribe Your Original Audio
Before you can dub, you need your script in text. If you have a video, transcribe it first. Two free options depending on length.
Upload to YouTube as unlisted → YouTube auto-generates captions → copy the transcript
✅ Option B — Any length, more accurate:
Go to https://huggingface.co/spaces/openai/whisper (OpenAI's free Whisper demo) or use AssemblyAI free tier
Upload your audio file → get accurate transcript in minutes
✅ Option C — Already have a script:
Skip this step entirely — paste your script directly into Step 2
Translate Your Script with Claude
Paste your full script into Claude (free) and ask it to translate to English. Claude preserves your natural speaking rhythm and tone better than Google Translate.
"Translate this script from Spanish to English. Keep the same conversational tone, sentence length, and energy. This will be used for a voice dubbing of a YouTube video — it needs to sound natural when spoken aloud, not like a formal translation. Script: [paste your script]"
Pro tip: Ask Claude to also add "[PAUSE]" markers where you naturally pause in the original — this helps sync the dubbed audio later.
Clone Your Voice and Generate English Audio
Go to ElevenLabs free. The free plan includes 1 voice clone slot — record 1 minute of your voice and ElevenLabs creates an AI clone that speaks your translated script in English with your voice.
1. Go to elevenlabs.io → Sign up free
2. Click "Voices" → "Add Voice" → "Voice Clone"
3. Record 60 seconds of yourself speaking clearly (any content)
4. Name it "My English Voice"
5. Go to "Text to Speech"
6. Select your cloned voice
7. Paste your translated English script
8. Click Generate → Download MP3
✅ ElevenLabs settings for natural dubbing:
Stability: 0.5 (more natural variation)
Similarity: 0.8 (sounds like you)
Style: 0.3
Sync the Dubbed Audio to Your Video in CapCut
Open CapCut (free, desktop or mobile). Import your original video, mute the original audio, and add your new English dubbed track.
1. Open CapCut → New Project → Import your video
2. Select the video clip → click "Audio" → set volume to 0 (mute original)
3. Click "Audio" in toolbar → "Import" → upload your ElevenLabs MP3

5. Use the waveform to manually sync key moments
6. Export at 1080p → free, no watermark with free account
Sync tip: Find 3 clear moments where your mouth movement matches a word — align those first, then the rest follows naturally.
Add English Subtitles (Bonus — Doubles Watch Time)
Adding subtitles to your dubbed video increases watch time by 40% on average. CapCut generates them automatically for free.
1. In your CapCut project → click "Text" → "Auto Captions"
2. Select language: English
3. CapCut transcribes your dubbed audio and places subtitles automatically
4. Adjust font, size, and position (white with black outline works best)
5. Export
Subtitle style that maximizes retention:
Font: Bold, white, black outline
Position: Lower third (not covering faces)
Size: Large enough to read on mobile
